I provide fun author events with a spooky twist connected to my book (Brotherhood of Shades), but as an experienced literacy tutor and consultant I also deliver creative writing and poetry workshops to link in with school literacy and English schemes of work. I am comfortable working with large groups of children, and happy to work with all ages.
Whilst my fiction is for the YA age range, my work in reader development encompasses pre-readers to A level students. My main focus for visits connected to my book Brotherhood of Shades is years 7-9, but I am happy to provide creative writing workshops for all ages.
My most popular events are currently my Prehistory Workshops based around my bestselling book - Skara Brae. These are designed to support both history and literacy in KS1 and 2. You can find full details of these by following the link in the menu above, or by clicking here.
I follow up my visits with feedback on pupil's work if required (including judging storywriting competitions) and provide two free copies of my book to do with as you see fit (some schools have used these as prizes). I also supply publicity material and book related material and ideas for discussion points if required. I am happy to liaise with local book suppliers if you also require this service.
For 2015, I am pleased to be able to offer a set price London and South East Schools package. This consists of a half day of tailored talks and presentations (including pupil involvement) followed by lively Q&A and signing session.
The London & South East Schools half-day package is a set price of £250 (this includes all of my travel expenses)
I am happy to visit schools all over the UK, and prices vary depending on distance. Please contact me for a quote.
